MILWAUKEE — The finalists for The Baseball Writers’ Association of America honors have been announced and both Craig Counsell and Christian Yelich made the list.

The Baseball Writers' Association of America honors (BBWAA) are the centerpiece of baseball's awards season and the finalists for each honor were just announced. These honors recognize the most valuable players, best managers, rookies of the year, and best pitchers in both leagues.

This year, two Brewers have been named finalists.

Craig Counsell has been named a finalist for the BBWAA National League Manager of the year. He is up against Mike Shildt of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Brian Snitker of the Atlanta Braves.

The official winner of the Manager of the Year award will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. on MLB Network.

In addition to Counsell, Christian Yelich has also made the list. For the second year in a row, Yelich is a finalist for the National League MVP award. Even after missing the end of the season, Yelich is still making his name known to the baseball community. He was named alongside Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anthony Rendon of the World Series Champions, the Washington Nationals.

The National League MVP winner will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6:00 p.m. on MLB Network.

This news comes just one day after center fielder Lorenzo Cain was announced the National League Center Field winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove.
