What started as an homage to a nostalgic Milwaukee taste will become a permanent summer fixture to the AJ Bombers menu.
The restaurant chain announced Monday the special edition burger "The Tribute" will be available now through summer.
Marc's Big Boy restaurants debuted in Milwaukee in 1958, and the last of the chain closed its doors in 1995. The Tribute burger definitely spoke to the city's taste buds.
“We knew Milwaukeeans loved Marc’s Big Boy and its tremendous burger, and it’s been exciting to bring those flavors to a new generation of Big Boy fans," said David Marcus, the CEO of the AJ Bombers parent company, in a news release.
The homage to the Big Boy features two quarter-pound smashed patties, American cheese, shredded iceburg lettuce, special B. Boy sauce, and a sesame seed bun with an extra bun in the middle. It is truly the classic American burger.

The chain sold more than 1,500 of the burgers in a week.
