MILWAUKEE — MILWAUKEE — Making sure kids feel confident heading back to school is the goal of a Milwaukee barber.

Kevin Chester owns JAACS Barbershop on West Lincoln Avenue. For the last five years, he has provided more than 600 free haircuts to children before their first day back at school. Kevin said it's not just about the haircut, it's about making kids feel successful and confident along with easing the financial burden for families.

"It’s important just to give back to the community. You know? There are parents out here that need this,” said Kevin.

This year, seven barbers expect to provide free haircuts for 200 kids. A stylist will also be on hand to provide free braids.
