MILWAUKEE — A bar that plans to open later this summer is offering the best of both worlds for Milwaukee-area residents.
Axe-throwing has been popular for a while, but Marla and David Poytinger wanted to add another activity to their 12,000-square-foot bar in Walker’s Point.
Not only will customers be able to toss axes but they also will have the opportunity to play shuffleboard at the NorthSouth Club at 230 E. Pittsburgh Ave.
“We wanted to meet the demand for axe-throwing, but also bring another activity to the city,” David said in a news release. “Milwaukee culture is shifting away from just a night at the bar. When much of your life is spent in front of a computer or device, you’re ready to break out for a night and do something interactive with friends.”
Construction on the club, located next to Merriment Social, is set to begin by the end of this month.
The facility will include a full bar and private event space highlighted by tall ceilings, large skylights and open garage doors in the summer.
Besides the NorthSouth Club, the Poytingers also own AXE MKE, Nine Below and Splash Studio.
