At least 12 people displaced after building fire in Genoa City

GENOA CITY — Genoa City Fire Department along with several other fire stations are working to put out a five-alarm fire in Genoa City.

Fire officials say at least a dozen people were affected by the fire and one person was transported to hospital.

Officials also say one cat died and a dog and guinea pig were saved.

Early Sunday morning an apartment building caught fire. Many fire stations including Lake Geneva, Richmond, and Bloomfield have responded.

The Red Cross is helping out families and donations can be dropped off at First Congregational United Church.
