WAUKESHA, Wis. — An armed robbery prompted a standoff at a home near Cumberland and Hine in Waukesha on Friday.
According to the Waukesha Police Department, the armed robbery occurred around 5:30 a.m. The victim said a man took his wallet and other personal belongings at gunpoint.
Evidence led investigators to the 1000 block of Cumberland Drive. Officers confirmed the person of interest was inside a home and a search warrant was obtained.
A person of interest who was inside the home was arrested shortly before 3 p.m.
The standoff lasted for hours and put SWAT teams, police dogs, and drones into action to assist.
