MILWAUKEE — One of the three founders of El Rey Foods has passed away.
The grocery store chain wrote on Facebook that Armando Villarreal died on Sunday.
Villareal, along with his brothers Heriberto and Ernesto, helped start the Mexican grocery store, but left in the early years to pursue other business ventures in Texas and Mexico.
"We credit Armando with the setting up of El Rey Tortilleria, one of the most successful branches of the El Rey organization," the store writes in the post.
El Rey Foods currently has 4 locations open across the Milwaukee area.
