The Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort (WAVE) organized an advanced screening of the documentary "Under the Gun," produced and narrated by Katie Couric.
The film explores America's gun violence problem through the eyes of victims' families, and gun-rights advocates. It also examines why our national politicians are refusing to act, and what is being done at the state and local levels.
Kristina Paris, who works for WAVE, shared her own personal story of being victimized by a criminal who had gotten a hold of an illegal gun.
The screening was held at the Milwaukee Art Museum Tuesday night. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett addressed the crowd and spoke about the need to get illegal guns off of our streets.
