TOWNSHIP OF TRENTON — Officials have revealed new information about a fatal head-on wrong-way car crash on May 26.
Eric Hagenbart, a 39-year-old from Beaver Dam, died June 1 from injuries he sustained during the collision, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said. He was being treated at Aurora Hospital.
Hagenbart was driving northbound on the southbound side of U.S. 151 near Redwood Road in the Township of Trenton, police said in a news release. He hit Ryan Shultz, a 24-year-old from Sun Prairie, head-on. Shultz was pronounced dead on the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner's Office.
The crash is still being investigated, but officials believe alcohol and driving on the wrong side of the road contributed to the crash.
