MILWAUKEE — A total of ten people have applied to be the next Milwaukee Police Chief.

The Fire and Police Commission tells TMJ4 that the deadline for applying is this Friday, Sept.11. FPC will have a meeting on Sept. 29 to determine the top five applicants.

The names of the applicants were not released Thursday.

The seat became open after the PFC demoted former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales to captain amid tensions between him and the FPC.

Michael Brunson has led the department as interim chief since Morales' demotion on Aug. 6.
