A Racine man dies after being shot in the leg

RACINE - Racine police were called for a shots fired incident in the 900 block of Walnut Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

On the scene officers located a 54-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Life saving measures were attempted and the victim was taken to Ascension Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say a person of interest was taken into custody and this incident is still under investigation.

Racine police investigators are interested in any information someone might have about this crime.
