PLYMOUTH — An addition to a pre-existing city ordinance in Plymouth could ban vaping in or around city-owned property if it passes Tuesday night.
The Plymouth Common Council passed an ordinance in 2013 that banned people from smoking in city owned properties or within 12-feet of those properties' entrances.
Now, an update to that ordinance could ban vaping in addition to smoking. That is, if it passes Common Council Tuesday night.
According to the Plymouth City Administrator, this ordinance was passed around 2010 to prohibit people from standing in front of the public library smoking. Recently, Common Council members realized their ordinance was outdated and began the process of adding vaping.
This process will likely come to an end Tuesday night when the Common Council comes together to vote on the ordinance addition.
