WEST ALLIS, Wis — Despite a world war and multiple economic collapses one thing in West Allis has stayed the same since 1928.
"We’ve been family owned and operated since 1928," Wendy Matel, the owner of Freese's Candy Shop in West Allis said.
The store on West Greenfield Avenue has been delivering delicious delights to customers for 91 years. Matel said its because of their specialties.
"Well I think our pecan turtles, our toffee, our fairy food."

It also doesn't help when they have customers who love to indulge.
"Hundreds of pounds for one person is not uncommon."
As for the next 91 years?
"I hope to be keeping everybody happy and full of chocolate," Matel said.
