OCONOMOWOC — Get your cameras out because a farm with 500,000 sunflowers on it is ready for its close-up.

Half a million sunflowers are on display across from Stone Bank Elementary School in Oconomowoc.

It's not like other tourist sunflower mazes; rather, it's a farmers crop who just decided to let the public enjoy it before he harvested it.

Right now, there is a small section cut out on the elementary school side of the farm for people to get up close and personal with the sunflowers for free. The elementary school is OK with you using its parking lot.

This opportunity won't be around for long because the farmer will harvest the sunflowers for sunflower seed oil in the next few days. If you are itching to get that final summer photo in, this might be the best place for it.

The superintendent of the Stone Bank School District said this only happens once every six or so years, so he is happy to open up his parking lot for visitors.
