The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office along with DCI (WI Division of Criminal Investigations) and other law enforcement, conducted an undercover operation targeting human trafficking as it relates to prostitution and the solicitation thereof.
During the operation on Thursday, Oct. 1, five individuals were arrested for a variety of charges, the sheriff’s office reports.
The charges include: prostitution solicitation, patronizing prostitutes, possession of child pornography, prostitution, resisting or obstructing an officer, possession of cocaine and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The individuals were identified by investigators using “popular publicly available online websites,” that have been generated for the purpose of arranging sexual encounters in exchange for money, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office stated that human sex trafficking of any kind will not be tolerated by Sheboygan County law enforcement officials.
