MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Monday just after 3 a.m.
A 33-year-old woman was gunned down in an alley near 19th and Arthur on the city's south side.
Neighbors were shaken by the overnight violence that many say happened too close to home. Sabrina Grulkowski said this isn’t anything she anticipated seeing so early in the morning.
“Lately it’s been really quiet over here, so I don’t think any of us were expecting this,” Grulkowski said.
“I would like to see more patrol around this area especially (because) for the last few months it’s getting a little scary around here.” — Benjamin Jordan, a neighbor
As the investigation continues, Milwaukee Police are trying to determine a motive and put the shooter behind bars while neighbors worry about their safety.
