OAK CREEK -- Two Oak Creek High School students were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car that was driven by a high school staff member Wednesday morning.

The pedestrian accident happened just after 7 a.m. -- in the 300 block of E. Puetz at Mayhem -- which is directly in front of Oak Creek High School.

The driver of the vehicle was a staff member of the high school, the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District said in a news release. Oak Creek Police said that staff member stayed at the scene of the accident after it happened.

Right now, there's no word on the students' condition.

Oak Police say their investigation is ongoing -- and no other information has been released at this time.
