Two small kids were rushed to the hospital after a stolen SUV smashed into a van Monday night.
Milwaukee police officers were chasing a stolen SUV when it crashed near 51st and Nash. Several people were hurt, including those two children.
Lorenzo Hollins was heading home from his cousin's house around 6 p.m. when he said he almost got hit.
"I looked in my rearview [mirror] cause I heard some sirens, so I turned around and I seen a car shooting past," Hollins said.
Police said the SUV was stolen earlier in the day. Hollins said it passed him in the bike lane by Congress and 51st.
"They shot past me with no lights on bout 100 miles an hour," Hollins said. "I was a little shocked so I just paused and I seen police coming behind them. So I was like 'oh there's a chase going on.'"
The SUV made it about eight blocks before it ended up crashing into the van at 51st and Nash, just a few houses from where Dallas Smith lives.
"I came to see, the whole road was blocked off with a bunch of cops and I came and saw these two vehicles smashed into the trees," Smith said.
Two people in the SUV were eventually taken into custody.
