MILWAUKEE — Officer Mark Lentz, who served Milwaukee for 18 years, died Wednesday due to health-related issues, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Lentz was injured Aug. 3, 2017, when he was run over by a vehicle while attempting to make a traffic stop.
It is unknown whether his death is related to this incident, MPD said Wednesday.
Lentz recently received a merit award, according to MPD.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
