WISCONSIN — A portion of the Wisconsin Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry returned to U.S. soil earlier this month after spending nearly seven months overseas.
These 150 soldiers are only a portion of the 400 "Red Arrow" Soldiers that were sent to Afghanistan in July of 2019.
The troops are currently at Fort Hood in Texas where they are completing post-mobilization requirements. They are expected to return home to Wisconsin in the coming days.
The other 250 Red Arrow troops remain in Afghanistan and are expected to return in accordance with the mobilization’s original timeline.
There are currently more than 500 Wisconsin National Guard troops who are continuing their deployments overseas
