SHOREWOOD — A 14-year-old male Shorewood High School student is in police custody for allegedly creating a "hit list" and bringing ammunition to school Tuesday, according to Shorewood Police.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to Shorewood High School in regards to a student seeing a list in another student's notebook titled "Hit List."

The juvenile who drafted the list was taken into custody and a magazine with ammunition was recovered from the suspect's backpack. An investigation found the weapon associated with the magazine was at no point in possession of the student or brought on school property, according to the release from Shorewood Police.

The FBI reached out to Shorewood Police at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday about an online tip of a possible second subject. An investigation Wednesday determined there to be no other subject involved in creating the "Hit List."

Shorewood School District canceled classes for the whole district Wednesday.

Criminal charges are being referred to the Milwaukee County District's Attorney's Office.

Classes will be back in session Thursday and support for students is being made available throughout the upcoming days.
