Authorities say a 10-year-old boy died at the scene of a crash involving a school bus. The child was not on the bus, but in one of the other vehicles involved in the crash. There were no children on the bus itself.

A Hortonville Area School District bus was involved in the crash on Highway 15 east beyond County Highway M at about 8 a.m. Thursday. Three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Authorities say one vehicle was heading eastbound and another vehicle crashed into it, pushing it into the westbound lane where it then crashed into the school bus.

The 10-year-old child killed in the crash was an elementary student on his way to school. The person driving the vehicle where the child was a passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The only person on the school bus was the driver, who was also taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement and Emergency Management Services are at the scene. All lanes are blocked.
