MILWAUKEE -- A 6-year-old boy, is the latest victim of gun violence in Milwaukee.

Marcus Gathings Junior was shot by a stranger on the north side lastFridaywhile sitting in the back of an SUV at 39th and Custer.

Shunette Sampson, the boy's mother, clarified with TODAY'S TMJ4 her son is 6-years-old, not seven, as previously reported by Milwaukee Police.

Investigators say the suspect is an unknown female, who still has not been caught.

Sampson now wants the shooter to turn herself in.

"It could have gone through his foot and hit one of the other kids. You never know. A bullet got no name or eyes," said Sampson.

"The bullet went through the side [of his foot] and came out the bottom," explained Sampson, who adds her son has a broken bone in his foot. He is now getting around in a medical walking boot.

Milwaukee Police say the female suspect, in this case, has still not been caught.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Milwaukee police.
