WISCONSIN — Souls to the Polls, an alliance of Milwaukee inner-city churches, is offering free Lyft and Uber rides to the polling places statewide.

The statewide free transportation is the result of cooperation between the Souls to the Polls ministers, the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition and the Uber and Lyft Ride Sharing program.

Souls to the Polls has set up a Rides Hotline staffed by volunteers to make reservations and arrange pick-ups at home and from the polls.

The Hotline began Oct. 20 and is open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on weekends.

Volunteers at the Hotline will also be assisting voters, making sure they have valid ID and other identification paperwork.

COVID-19 precautions are taking place to make sure passengers will be protected.

Special attention will be given to help individuals who need curbside assistance.

You can schedule your ride to the polls by calling the hotline at 414-246-1823.

If you have any other questions about the Souls to the Polls Free Ride Share program, you can call campaign leader Norma Balentine at 414-383-1821 or email her newporttoday@gmail.com.
