Asking Milwaukeeans why they vote

MILWAUKEE — With the election less than a week away, we wanted to take a step back from the in-depth politics and partisanship. We've heard enough of that lately, and it will only amplify as it gets closer to election day.

We went out into Milwaukee and asked a simple question: why do you vote?

Rather than asking who people are voting for, we just wanted to know what drives them to the polls.

We interviewed people at three different locations: the Sherman Phoenix, the Milwaukee Public Market, and the El Rey grocery store on Cesar Chavez Drive. Each person we talked to had their own reasoning, but there was one common denominator, it's important to do so.

Watch the video to learn what different Milwaukeeans had to say.
