WISCONSIN — Alberta Darling (R) is projected to keep her District 8 State Senate seat, after serving in the position for the last 27 years.
Darling was running against Democratic candidate Neal Plotkin, a small business owner from Milwaukee. Darling took 54 percent of the vote, compared to Plotkin's 46 percent.

Darling was born in Indiana and got her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
She assumed office in the Wisconsin Senate in 1993 and has served as the District 8 State Senator since then. Prior to that, she served on the Wisconsin State Assembly for three years.
