MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee 2020 host committee announced Friday the location of the DNC delegate party: Summerfest.
This event, which is set to take place on Sunday, July 12, will serve as the delegates official introduction to the City of Milwaukee. The convention will kickoff the following day.
“Milwaukee is a great place on a Great Lake, and by hosting the Delegate Welcome Party on the Summerfest grounds, we can showcase one of our city’s finest assets to the world,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Co-Chair of the Host Committee. “It’s the perfect opportunity to set the stage and give convention delegates a first glimpse of America's Fresh Coast.”
Several thousand delegates will be invited to attend, and those who do will be provided a view of Lake Michigan from the north end of the grounds.
Along with the delegate welcome party, the host committee is also in charge of planning a media welcome party, and a volunteer appreciation party.
Due to the size of the convention, the committee will be looking for a team of 15,000 volunteers.
To find these volunteers, the committee launched a volunteer portal. To volunteer, simply click here and create an account.
