A report says that the city of Delafield will consider the return of an iconic farmhouse - or at least the cheery artwork on the farmhouse.
The Waukesha Freeman says that on May 30, the Delafield Plan Commission will discuss allowing the "Smiley Barn" to come back. It would involve the repainting of a barn near I-94 and the opening of a candy and toy store with the same name as the barn.
"What could be more perfect than to create a toy and candy store inside the smiley barn," said owner Maria Luther to WTMJ sister station TODAY'S TMJ4 back in April.
However, the report says that Delafield's code looks at the barn as "advertising signage" which is bigger than city code allows. That's what the Plan Commission will be debating May 30.
Luther is attempting to garner support for the effort via Facebook.
