MADISON — Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has launched a new toolto help people find out when their benefits connected to Continued Assistance Act programs kick in.

However, DWD says that its "antiquated computer system" does not allow the programs to launch all at once. Some new benefits are still a few weeks away from being included in the tracker, according to a statement from the department on Friday.

Congress passed the Continued Assistance Act last December, creating new unemployment programs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, DWD has been working to launch these federal programs in Wisconsin.

The first of the programs, the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, was implemented in our state in January.
