WISCONSIN — You can help make a quarantine quilt through the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA)!

The new project gives Wisconsinsites the opportunity to be part of a community quilt made during these unprecedented times.

When finished, this quilt will be displayed at the WMQFA. It is a way to stay creative while stuck at home, trying to avoid the coronavirus.

If you wish to take part in this community project, simply create a 12" x 12" square with a 1" seam allowance. That means, leave one inch at the end non-decorated.

You can embroider your square, paint it, embellish it, or do essentially anything else you can think of.

Completed blocks can be mailed to Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts; c/o The Quarantine Quilt; P.O. Box 562; Cedarburg, WI 53012.

Blocks will continue to be accepted for up to a month after the quarantines end. Additionally, the museum asks that anyone who completes a block puts their name and location on the back.

You can also share photos of your square to the WMQFA Facebook and Instagram pages.

“We know everyone is facing uncertain and frightening times. But art has the unique power to bring us together. Even as we self-isolate and quarantine, this project reminds us that we are still a community, and we can create something beautiful to express ourselves," said WMQFA Executive Director Melissa Wraalstad.

It's just a fun way to connect with others when we are all quarantining in our homes.
