The downtown Milwaukee YMCA facility is temporarily closing.

The YMCA announced the emergency closure on its website. The facility reopened in June, to limited capacity and health screenings for its guests.

The Milwaukee Business Journal said the closure was due to a concentration of COVID-19 cases in the city of Milwaukee.

As of Monday morning, there were over 19,727 positive cases in Milwaukee County.

Members of the YMCA are encouraged to use the Rite-Hite branch in Brown Deer or utilize its online classes.
