Community spread of COVID-19 believed to have happened in Milwaukee, Kenosha counties

WISCONSIN — Community spread of coronavirus is believed to have happened in Dane, Kenosha and Milwaukee counties.

The Department of Health Services said that community spread is when there are people who have tested positive for COVID-19 but have no known travel to an area where there was community spread.

In Milwaukee County, there were 24 positive cases. In Kenosha, there were 4 positives.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were 72 positive cases of coronavirus in Wisconsin. Over 1,000 people have tested negative.

Gov. Tony Evers ordered a statewide ban on all public gatherings of 10 or more people.

Evers also said restaurants and bars will also close and will only be allowed to offer carry-out and delivery services.
