MILWAUKEE — The warming shelters in the city of Milwaukee are at capacity and the Milwaukee Fire Department is asking the public for help.

Temperatures have dropped well below zero and wind chills are at alarmingly low levels. A Wind Chill Warning is in effect until noon Thursday.

One of the shelters, St. Ben’s—located near 10th and State—is in need of extra cots, along with gloves, jackets, socks, laundry detergent and underwear, mostly for men.

Also, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission also needs men’s coats in sizes 2XL and 3XL, along with men’s underwear, women and children’s pajamas, and towels.
