Mike Beiermeister joined TMJ4 in April 2024.
He grew up in Waukesha and attended Marquette University High School. During his childhood, TMJ4 was a fixture in his living room, inspiring him to pursue journalism and digital media. Mike graduated from Marquette University in 2016.
Prior to joining TMJ4, he spent four and a half years at WXOW News 19 in La Crosse. He started as a weekend anchor and reporter, eventually transitioning to lead morning anchor on Daybreak.
During his time in the Coulee Region, Mike tackled significant issues such as the impact of COVID-19 on local communities, PFAS contamination, damaged roads and their resolutions, the toll of dementia on families and healthcare systems, and much more. He was also fortunate enough to capture veterans experiencing the memorials built in their honor through the Freedom Honor Flight.
Mike started his career at WBKB-TV in Alpena, Michigan, where he served as an anchor, reporter, producer, and assistant news director.
He has received several Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards, Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards, and an Upper Midwest Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Light News Feature in 2023 for his story on a friendly 'Sasquatch' in Vernon County. In 2024, he received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and an Award of Merit from the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association for his series "Rough Roads."
In his free time, Mike enjoys running, watching sports, listening to music, playing basketball, walking his dog Penny, and trying new restaurants.
