Got extra Halloween candy? Send it to veterans and troops overseas

If your kids end up with too many treats on Halloween, several groups are taking donations so they can send the candy to troops.

Similar to programs that allow families to donate their candy to doctor's offices, Soldiers' Angels is a nationwide program that sends treats to U.S. military members overseas as well as veterans at VA centers.

"Service members love the candy when they're deployed, they don't often get access to the candy, and it's not available usually in the stores they have access to overseas," says Amy Palmer, the CEO of Soldiers' Angels. "So when they're going out in the field, just to take a pocketful of it, is really appreciated."

If you're not sure where you can donate, you can search by zip code and mile radius on soldiersangels.org.
