Goats In Coats: Keeping Wisconsin farm animals warm

(WMTV) The freezing temperatures gripping much of the country are not just bad news for humans, but also for animals faced with enduring the elements.

Heartland Farm Sanctuary in Verona, Wisconsin is home to more than 100 farm animals ranging from llamas to goats.

The sanctuary's executive director, Jen Korz, says they are using all the resources they have to keep the animals safe during the cold spell.

"Our pigs, mini pigs, and our farm pigs--they are loaded with straws, blankets and they are inside. We even have our sheep and our llamas and goats inside," Korz said.

She said they have staff doing round the clock checks on the animals, with temperatures expected to drop to the negative teens.
