World Champion yo-yoer blends comedy and tricks into unique act

MILWAUKEE — Mark Hayward is a world champion yo-yoer. He has turned that passion, and a love for jokes, into a career doing both.

"It means that I do yo-yo tricks, and I tell jokes, and I do little stories. I bring volunteers up while I'm doing the show,” Hayward said.

His career started when he got a yo-yo in his stocking for Christmas. He and a few friends initially started a juggling group, but eventually Hayward inserted yo-yoing into the act and the rest is history.

He even worked his way up to becoming a world champion yo-yoer in 1995.

TODAY’S TMJ4 asked him to put his yo-yo skills to the test, and even tested to see if he could knock a coin off someone’s ear with a yo-yo. Watch the video to see if he could do it.
