If you don't get out to one of the many Milwaukee festivals this weekend you may regret it. Here's the lineup for this weekend:
First up, Festa Italiana runs Friday through Sunday. The Italian festival is a showcase of the culture's food, music and dances. Plus, there are fireworks every night at 10:15 p.m.
Next is some people's favorite time of the year: the Milwaukee Air & Water Show. The booming at the Lakefront has been going on since Thursday, but the festivities officially start on Friday and go until the Thunderbird show at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The show will go on rain or shine.
Time to get firkin! The Milwaukee Firkin Beer Fest is a beer festival with unique brews in Cathedral Square Park. The event is on Saturday, and if it's your first year at the festival you should know that a firkin is a small wooden barrel or covered vessel. Now you're ready to join in the firkin fun!
Gallery Night and Day is back on Friday and Saturday, and this time it's all about paint. The Plein Air Painting Competition is a showcase of artists who leave their studios and paint "in the open air" to capture Milwaukee's most distinctive neighborhood. Painters will be located all across the Historic Third Ward.
We all know the story but now's the chance to see it live. Shrek the Musical is at the Greendale Community Theater all weekend. Don't be a donkey, get your tickets here.
