WAUKESHA — The hot and humid weather prompts the Waukesha County Fair to lift its ban on carry-in water bottles ahead of the fair, July 17-21.

Fair officials are encouraging fair-goers to bring an empty clear water bottle or a sealed clear water bottle to the fair to fill on the grounds and promote proper hydration.

Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Jesse Ritka says this may be the hottest week of the year.

Water fountains are located in the Arena Building and the Forum Marketplace. Both buildings are also air-conditioned. Culligan is offering free water samples this year with concession stands offering Gatorade and bottled water. There is a misting tent near the Arena building on the south end of the grounds.

The Waukesha County Fair runs from Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 21. For more information, visit the fair's website.
