FLASHBACK: Notable 1980s Summerfest performers

Summerfest entered a new era in 1983 when organizers announced plans to build a big amphitheater on the grounds. Disco was over, hip hop became a thing and rock and roll still ruled as Summerfest hosted notable legendary performers, including Stevie Wonder, Sting, Bob Dylan, Run-DMC and many others. The 1980s was the era of acid-washed jeans, track suits, spandex and lots of silky shirts, and the performers were not shy about expressing themselves.
