OCONOMOWOC, WI — Lake County residents are getting ready to celebrate the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” tonight in downtown Oconomowoc.
The Moonlit Movies series will turn downtown into the Land of Oz this evening to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the classic movie.
Oconomowoc was one of a few select cities that originally screened The Wizard of Oz in 1939.
Main Street will be closing early giving fans the chance to line up lawn chairs in front of a giant screen. Organizers plan to have the infamous characters from the movie out on the streets before the the film is shown at dusk.
Organizers have posted additional information on Facebook about road closures for the event.
