Motorcycle aficionados are strapping on the leather in anticipation for additional festivities surrounding Harley-Davidson’s 115th Anniversary Celebration over Labor Day Weekend.

Company officials announced several new events Thursday including Hillclimb Motorcycle Racing at Little Switzerland ski resort in Slinger, Wis.

Motorcycles will race up a 200-foot ski hill on Sept. 1.

“It will be rider and machine against gravity on a steep-and-gnarly course up the face of the ski hill,” Harley-Davidson Marketing Lead Eric Jensen said in a news release. “Hillclimb is one of the original forms of motorcycle competition and a big part of our history that’s celebrated by The Hill Climber statue at the Harley-Davidson Museum. This event is a natural fit for our anniversary weekend as we put motorcycle culture on full display.”

Five Milwaukee-area neighborhoods are throwing 80 events across 20 venues during the anniversary weekend, with the epicenter located at The Harley-Davidson Museum.

Additional racing scheduled August 29 through September 2 includes:

  • Flat Out Friday:  Bar-to-bar indoor flat-track racing on the concrete floor of Panther arena in Milwaukee on an oval circuit soaked with sticky Dr. Pepper syrup.
  • Run What You Brung: Participants race side-by-side and head-to-head at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wis.

A limited amount of Rally Packs that include drink discounts, VIP motorcycle parking and other perks are available. Only 400  top-tier Chrome Packs are available, along with less than 1,000 second-tier Rides Home Packs.

A full schedule and ticket information is located at the Harley-Davidson® 115th Anniversary Milwaukee Celebration web site.
