For the eighth consecutive year, Summerfest is providing families with the opportunity for free admission on their annual Family Day, Sunday, July 1.
The first 2,500 patrons who show up between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. and donate three nutritious, non-perishable food items for kids will receive one free admission ticket, valid for the rest of the day.
Suggested items to bring are canned chicken or tuna, fruits canned in 100 percent juice and low sodium vegetables. All donations will benefit the Hunger Task Force.
Other family activities for families throughout Summerfest include the Captivation Station, open every day of Summerfest from 12 p.m to 7 p.m.
Families can make art with the Milwaukee Art Museum, do hands-on projects with Discovery World, watch theatrical performances from the Zoological Society of Milwaukee and see an interactive exhibit from the Milwaukee Public Museum.
The Captivation station will also showcase performances from Mad Science, Comedy Sportz and Join in and Dance.
