WAUWATOSA -- A woman found trapped under a car in a parking structure at Froedtert Hospital died after 'bleeding profusely from the head,' according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies say they found the woman trapped under a vehicle in the West Parking Structure at Froedtert just before 4:00 a.m. Friday. The vehicle had crashed into a wall of parking structure but only had moderate damage. There was nobody in the vehicle when deputies arrived, the sheriff's office says.
When paramedics from the Wauwatosa Fire Department arrived, they discovered the woman was unconscious and frozen to the ground. After thawing her, she was removed and immediately taken to the trauma ward, where she was pronounced dead just before 4:30 a.m.
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing. The woman has not been identified at this point.
Froedtert released the following statement Friday morning:
A situation is currently being investigated on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center Campus. We are working with the Milwaukee Sheriff’s Department and Wauwatosa Fire and Police who are investigating. Please contact law enforcement for further information.
