Both Marquette and Wisconsin will host a contest in the 2017 'Gavitt Games,' Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports reported.

Marquette will take on Purdue at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Nov. 14. The Golden Eagles finished 19-13 last season and made the NCAA tournament for the first time in the Steve Wojciechowski era.

Purdue (27-8) won the Big Ten last year and advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.

Much of the Boilermakers' 2017-18 season will be based on the decision of forward Caleb Swanigan, who was a first-team All-American this past season. Swanigan has declared for the NBA Draft, but has not hired an agent, meaning he is still eligible to return to school.

The Badgers will also partake in the Gavitt Games, hosting Xavier on Nov. 16 at the Kohl Center.

Both Wisconsin and Xavier made surprise tournament runs last season; Wisconsin knocked off top seed Villanova to advance to the Sweet 16, while the Musketeers ran to the Elite Eight as an 11 seed.

This will be the third year of the Gavitt Games, an annual non-conference slate of eight games featuring Big East and Big Ten teams.

Both Marquette and Wisconsin are 0-1 in Gavitt Games history - the Golden Eagles fell to Iowa at home in 2015, while Creighton knocked off the Badgers last season.
