According to a report, the Green Bay Packers won't have Jay Cutler in Chicago anymore to, in the minds of many Packers fans, kick around.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Cutler asked the Bears for, and received, his release Thursday and will be entering the free agent market.

Cutler, an 11-year NFL veteran, played in Chicago for parts of eight years (2009-16). He started five games last year before injury cut his season short.

While in Chicago, Cutler had an 85.2 passer rating and a 51-51 record.

His full record as a starter against Green Bay was, to be kind, a bit worse - 2-12 including the postseason.

He has just a 68.9 passer rating with 16 touchdown passes and 22 interceptions in the regular season combining his years in Chicago and Denver (2006-08).

Cutler also was knocked out of the 2010 NFC Title Game in Chicago, one which the Packers won 21-14 en route to their Super Bowl championship that year.
