The Green Bay Packers will play the first of five preseason games the night after the induction of Brett Favre into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Packers announced the team will play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, August 7, one night after Brett Favre's induction in the same stadium in Canton, Ohio, part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame complex.
It means Green Bay will play five preseason games, and they will face the Colts again in the regular season at Lambeau Field. it also means training camp is expected to begin a week earlier than usual, in the range of July 23-24.
The last time the Packers played five preseason games was 2003, when the Packers also played in the Hall of Fame Game.
The Colts will be recognized with former coach Tony Dungy and wide receiver Marvin Harrison joining the hall as well on August 6.
