If you're a Green Bay Packers fan who just can't wait until Sunday for a little Lambeau action, the theater will do. A Packers themed movie called 'The 60 Yard Line' premiered Wednesday night in Menomonee Falls.

It isn't too often you'll find a movie shot in Wisconsin, based on real Wisconsin people, make it to the big screen nationwide. That dream turned into reality for Ryan Churchill. Churchill wore many hats to get the movie to the theaters - he wrote and produced the film, then became a lead actor.

"It's based on actual events and it's a group of friends of mine that were the ones who actually bought this house right next to the parking lot of Lambeau and we portray how that happened in the movie," he said.

Churchill said they shot the buddy/romance/sports comedy in Green Bay a couple years ago on a very low budget.

"It doesn't look low budget; it looks like a $10 million film so we're happy about that," he said.

To Churchill’s surprise, ‘The 60 Yard Line’ is being shown in 62 theaters.

“It's very tough for independent films to even get into one theatre so for it to be in 62 is… I honestly can't even wrap my head around it right now," said Churchill.

Whether you're a Packers fan or in need of a good laugh, Churchill hopes the Wisconsin ties will draw you to the theaters.

"It happens to have the backdrop of the Packers, but I want them to think like this isn't a film that's our film, it's their film," he said.

The movie will be in select theaters for the next two weeks.
