ESPN has slotted the Green Bay Packers fourth in their “2017 Way-Too-Early Power Rankings.”

Just a day after the craziness of Super Bowl LI, ESPN writer Kevin Seifert ranked all 32 teams as the NFL heads into the offseason. The two Super Bowl teams, New England and Atlanta, are ranked first and second respectively.

The rest of the NFC North is ranked as follows:

  • Detroit (14)
  • Minnesota (18)
  • Chicago (29)

Seifert emphasizes the offense for the Packers number four ranking. From week 10 through the NFC Championship game, the Packers rattled off eight wins behind a streaking Aaron Rodgers and a healthy Jordy Nelson.

However, he does look at this defense as a cause for concern. Clay Matthews will be 31 next season, and 37-year-old Julius Peppers is a pending free agent.  He also specifically pointed out the nearly 500 yards Dom Capers and co. allowed to the Falcons in the conference championship.

The Packers will likely turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball in the draft in May. Green Bay owns seven picks in the draft, including number 29 overall.
