GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers and Johnsonville Sausage Wednesday announced the creation of a brand-new (and permanent) spot for tailgaters that will be ready for the 2017-18 football season.
The Johnsonville Tailgate Village is being called a "permanent tailgating and event structure." The team says it's aimed at giving fans a centrally-located spot to gather on gameday.
Free and open to all fans, the Tailgate village will bring a "high-energy atmosphere, featuring music and entertainment, large screen televisions, food and beverages, and other activities for tailgaters."
The facility will also offer a 13,000 square-foot event area, which can seat more than 500 guests and also opens up to a 4,300 square-foot "party deck."
“We’re excited for this new building to enhance our tailgate environment at Lambeau Field by offering a place for all fans to be a part of the gameday atmosphere,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “We’re also looking forward to the Johnsonville Tailgate Village creating a fun, unique event space so our fans and guests can have another way to enjoy Lambeau Field year-round.”
The Johnsonville Tailgate Village is expected to be ready for the start of the 2017-18 football season.
